About this Song
fitterkarma, an alternative rock band from Metro Manila, Philippines, formed in 2023, though the project began as a solo endeavor by Joao de Leon in 2019. The band's name, stylized in all lowercase, draws inspiration from two Radiohead songs, "Fitter Happier" and "Karma Police," both from their 1997 album *OK Computer*. Comprising Joao de Leon on vocals and guitar, Sophia Miranda on bass and backing vocals, Sanders Bayas on drums, and Mikee Mendoza on guitar and backing vocals, fitterkarma blends indie rock, alternative rock, and art rock. Their musical style is characterized by a mix of acoustic and electric guitars, warm vocals, and heavier elements during live performances. The band's lyrical content often delves into themes of obsessive or masochistic love, devotion, and emotional struggles, drawing from Philippine folklore and personal experiences. Critics have noted similarities between fitterkarma's horror-themed storytelling and The Cranberries' "Zombie.
