About this Song
fitterkarma is an alternative rock band from Metro Manila, Philippines. The band formed in 2023. The name, stylized in all lowercase, combines the titles of Radiohead’s “Fitter Happier” and “Karma Police” from *OK Computer*. fitterkarma’s music blends indie rock, alternative rock, and art rock. Their musical style includes acoustic and electric guitars, warm vocals, and occasional heavier parts for live performances. The band’s lyrics explore themes of obsessive or masochistic love, devotion, and emotional struggles. These lyrics draw inspiration from Philippine folklore and personal experiences. Critics have compared fitterkarma’s horror-themed storytelling to The Cranberries’ “Zombie.” The project began in 2019 as a solo endeavor by Joao de Leon. He performed independently before collaborating with other musicians. In 2023, fitterkarma formed with students from the De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde’s music production program, with Joao de Leon as the founder.
