About this Song
Across the sweep of rock and roll’s global dispersal, few regions have nurtured the form with the kind of rooted, evolving care that has defined its trajectory across the Philippines, where the genre has long been woven into the fabric of communal gathering that gives many of its most enduring sounds their name and purpose. Fiesta, the sound at the center of this collection, emerges from that long, intertwined history of rock and roll and Philippine communal life, carrying the core of the genre’s unapologetic energy while anchoring itself to the set of cultural traditions that have made such gatherings central to life across the archipelago.
