About this Song
The collaborative creative forces behind Hayaan Mo Sila bring together two distinct collectives, Ex Battalion and O.C. Dawgs, rooted in the creative landscape of the Philippines, a region that sustains a vast, interconnected community of creators making work that resonates with audiences both within the archipelago and across the global spread of Filipino communities that have settled across every continent. As a sound work built through the partnership of two separate creative collectives, Hayaan Mo Sila emerges from a model of artistic production that centers shared labor and collective vision, rather than the individualistic framework that often dominates mainstream music ecosystems, where solo performers or lead artists are framed as the sole driving force behind a work’s creation.
