About this Song
The Philippines holds a singular, evolving position in the global pop ecosystem, a space shaped by centuries of cross-cultural exchange that has allowed local creative communities to refine a popular sound that feels both rooted in archipelagic identity and responsive to the global shifts that redefine pop as a genre year after year. Pop in the Philippines is far from a monolithic category, encompassing a wide range of creative expressions that tie together audiences across the country’s more than 7000 islands, as well as the millions of Philippine diaspora members who carry their connection to home’s music with them across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and every other region that hosts large, vibrant Philippine communities.
