About this Song
Rooted in the Philippines’ rich, evolving R&B ecosystem, which has spent decades expanding the genre’s core contours to center the specific experiences, histories, and collective sentiments that shape creative life across the archipelago and its global diaspora, Somewhere Over The Rainbow recontextualizes one of the most widely referenced core works in global popular music through the artistic lens that defines Filipino R&B’s most resonant contributions. This ecosystem has long nurtured creators who understand R&B not just as a set of sonic conventions, but as a vessel for storytelling that can hold both deeply personal vulnerability and broad, collective longing, turning intimate reflections into works that resonate with audiences spanning generations and geographic boundaries.
