About this Song
To encounter a work that distills the quiet urgency of a plea wrapped in the smooth, immersive framework of R&B, rooted in the Philippines’ longstanding tradition of centering vulnerability in popular musical expression, is to step into a space that feels both universally familiar and deeply specific to the cultural context that birthed it. One More Try carries that weight, that delicate balance between the personal and the collective, the kind of sound that does not need excess to resonate, because it draws from a lineage of creators across the archipelago who have turned R&B into a vessel for the kinds of emotions that are often too soft, too unpolished, to speak aloud in everyday conversation.
