About this Song
Rooted in the decades-long lineage of R&B creators building and refining the genre across the Philippines, this sound, Because Of You, sits within a continuous chain of artistic practice that has shaped how R&B is created, shared, and experienced within the country’s thriving contemporary music ecosystem. The chronological trajectory of R&B in the Philippines stretches back to the genre’s earliest global spread, when local creators began absorbing the core structural and creative foundations of R&B, infusing those foundations with the nuanced cultural perspectives that have long defined all forms of creative output from the archipelago.
