About this Song
The pop sound E85 emerges from the creative ecosystem of the Philippines, a country whose popular music landscape has long cultivated a dynamic range of expressions that balance local cultural rootedness with the accessible, widely resonant core that defines pop as a global artistic form. For creators working within Philippine pop, every work contributes to a sprawling, interconnected community that spans not just the thousands of islands that make up the Philippine archipelago, but also the vast global Filipino diaspora, which carries connections to Philippine art and culture across every inhabited continent. E85 exists within this framework, joining a body of work that reflects the diverse priorities, perspectives, and creative impulses of creators based in the Philippines, who draw from both the long history of Filipino musical tradition and the ever-shifting currents of global pop that reach audiences across digital and physical spaces.
