English rapper and actress Little Simz, born Simbiatu Ajikawo in Islington, London, began writing song lyrics at age 10 and self-released four mixtapes between 2010 and 2013. She was named Breakthrough Artist of the Year at BBC DJ Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Awards in 2015, the same year her debut studio album, *A Curious Tale of Trials + Persons*, appeared. Little Simz followed with *Stillness in Wonderland* in 2016, a concept album inspired by *Alice in Wonderland*, and opened for Gorillaz in 2017, also featuring on their track "Garage Palace." Her third studio album, *Grey Area*, released in 2019, received widespread acclaim, was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize, and won Best Album at the Ivor Novello Awards and NME Awards. This collaboration with producer Inflo was her first charting album, reaching number 87 on the UK chart and topping the R&B chart.
