About this Song
The collective urgency of mutual aid that swept across the Philippines in the wake of back-to-back tropical cyclones shaped this curated mix of faith-centered music, released to rally communities and raise support for hard-hit regions still reeling from the storms’ destruction. Filipino Best Loved Christian Music gathers the breadth of beloved sacred repertoire that has anchored generations of Filipino worshippers, reimagined through the remixes, medleys, and covers that define its format and tie it to a long tradition of reinterpreting familiar hymns to meet the unique needs of the moment. The compilation centers support for Catanduanes, Tuguegarao, Marikina, and Quezon, all regions that bore the brunt of Storms Rolly and Ulysses, their infrastructure, homes, and community spaces damaged or destroyed in the cyclones’ paths, with the grassroots campaign tied to the release funneling all support raised to the families and local organizations working to rebuild what was lost.
