About this Song
The archipelagic context of Philippine sonic creation, where the impulse to blend, rework, and weave disparate threads of creative expression into a single cohesive work is not a modern trend but a foundational approach to making and sharing sound, lends the classification of Music/Mix a depth that extends far beyond a superficial marker of blended styles, framing it instead as a deliberate recognition of a longstanding creative ethos that honors the way sound evolves when it moves between communities, between generations, and between the different modes of creation that have shaped cultural life across the country’s thousands of islands for centuries.
