The Filipino pop rock band Cup of Joe, formed in Baguio in November 2018, defines its sound as "experimental," incorporating acoustic pop, retro, alternative pop, retro-wave, and neo-folk, with influences from their Baguio environment. The band, signed with Viva Records in 2019, consists of lead vocalists Gian Bernardino and Raphaell Ridao, lead guitarist Gabriel Fernandez, rhythm guitarist CJ Fernandez, and keyboardist Xen Gareza. Their debut studio album, *Silakbo* (meaning 'Outburst'), released on January 17, 2025, is a concept album exploring the five stages of grief, with each stage represented by a pair of songs. *Silakbo* won Album of the Year at the Filipino Music Awards 2025. The lead single from *Silakbo*, titled "Multo" (meaning 'Ghost'), was released on September 14, 2024. "Multo" became the first song by a Filipino act to enter the Billboard Global 200, peaking at No. 80, and topped the Billboard Philippines Hot 100 for 33 non-consecutive weeks.
