About this Song
Rooted in the northern Philippines, the young pop and alternative collective that performs and records under the name Cup of Joe builds its dynamic discography from the combined creative strengths of six distinct members: Gian Bernardino and Raphaell Ridao on vocals, Gabriel Fernandez on lead guitar, CJ Fernandez on rhythm guitar, and Xen Gareza on keys, each bringing their own perspective to every track the group releases. The band stepped into the wider national spotlight with the arrival of their long-awaited first full EP, the much-anticipated debut set titled Patutunguhan, a collection that introduced a slate of new songs from the group, including the standout collaboration with Janine that bears the title Tingin. Since its release, Tingin has earned widespread acclaim and industry recognition, starting with its debut at the 40th spot on Spotify’s Viral 50 Philippines chart, a milestone that signaled the track’s immediate resonance with local listeners just days after it launched.
