Hailing from the northern regions of the Philippines, the young pop and alternative collective that records as Cup of Joe brings together six distinct creative voices to craft a discography rooted in collaborative synergy, with Gian Bernardino and Raphaell Ridao handling vocal duties, Gabriel Fernandez serving as lead guitar, CJ Fernandez on rhythm guitar, and Xen Gareza on keys, each contributing their individual strengths to every project the group releases. The band’s first major career milestone arrived with the launch of their much-awaited debut EP, Patutunguhan, which marked their first formal collection of new original work, introducing a broad audience to the layered, engaging sound that would become their signature. Within that debut release was their standout collaboration with Janine, “Tingin,” a track that would become the group’s first nationwide breakthrough.
