About this Song
Hailing from the northern regions of the Philippines, the five-member collective Cup of Joe brings together a dynamic set of creative voices that have redefined modern Filipino pop, drawing from an expansive list of influences that span pop’s most innovative subgenres—electronic, folk, indie pop, Latin, orchestral pop, R&B, reggae, rock, and world music—to craft work that feels both deeply rooted in their home context and broadly accessible to audiences far beyond their local scene. The lineup, made up of vocalists Gian Bernardino and Raphaell Ridao, lead guitarist Gabriel Fernandez, rhythm guitarist CJ Fernandez, and keyboardist Xen Gareza, has spent years honing their chemistry to build a discography that balances bold experimentation with the kind of emotional resonance that turns new releases into cultural staples, and the sound of Estranghero fits seamlessly into that growing body of work, carrying the same careful craft and boundary-pushing spirit that has defined every release the band has put forward.
