About this Song
Pop from the Philippines draws consistent creative fuel from regional scenes that stretch far beyond the country’s capital, with acts rooted in smaller urban centers bringing fresh, lived-in perspective to the genre, reworking mainstream pop’s boundaries to include the specific cultural and emotional textures that shape their art, and building connections with national audiences that turn local fanbases into nationwide followings. The young pop/alternative band that forms the core of this work emerged from the country’s North, a collective of multi-instrumentalists and vocalists whose combined creative chemistry powers every release they share under the band name Cup of Joe.
