About this Song
Cross-cultural exchange of pop music has turned works originally rooted in Western pop sensibilities into staples of Philippine music ecosystems, where local artists and global hit records coexist to shape the country’s vast, evolving pop landscape. Barry Manilow - Even Now (Lyrics) sits within this broad pop classification that unites disparate but thematically and sonically connected works across the Philippines’ music scene, bridging international pop favorites and the homegrown talent that has shaped local audiences’ lifelong relationship to the genre. This context of shared pop lineage creates a throughline that connects the international hit at the center of this sound to one of the Philippines’ most beloved homegrown pop rock acts, Cueshé, a band that emerged from the vibrant music scene of Cebu, a region that has long cultivated its own distinct strain of pop-infused rock that draws from both local and global influences.
