Icona Pop, a Swedish synth-pop duo formed in Stockholm in 2009 by Aino Jawo and Caroline Hjelt, gained international attention with their 2012 hit single "I Love It," featuring Charli XCX. This track became one of the year's biggest singles globally, earning nominations for the 2013 Teen Choice Award for Choice Single and the 2014 Billboard Music Award for Top Dance/Electronic Song, and winning Song of the Year at the 2014 SESAC Pop Awards. The duo's music, which the Swedish press has described as something "you can both laugh and cry to at the same time," incorporates influences from electro house, indie pop, dance-pop, and electropop. They signed with TEN Music Group in 2009 and also have a label deal with Ultra Music. Their debut album, *Icona Pop*, was released in Sweden in 2012, followed by their first internationally released album, *This Is... Icona Pop*, in September 2013.
