Chris Brown, an American singer, songwriter, dancer, and actor, presents "Obvious" as an R&B recording from the Philippines. Brown, born Christopher Maurice Brown in Tappahannock, Virginia, on May 5, 1989, signed with Jive Records in 2004 at the age of 15. His self-titled debut album in 2005 featured the chart-topping single "Run It!", which made him the first male artist since 1995 to lead the Billboard Hot 100. Produced by Scott Storch, "Run It!" was co-written with Sean Garrett and Juelz Santana, the latter of whom was also featured on the track. The album *Chris Brown* sold 154,000 copies in its first week, debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200, and achieved double Platinum certification by the end of 2006. Early in his career, Brown's vocal and dancing abilities drew comparisons to artists like Usher and Michael Jackson. His second album, *Exclusive* (2007), included the Billboard Hot 100 number-one single "Kiss Kiss.
