About this Song
Narito Ako emerges from the rich, ever-evolving creative ecosystem of the Philippines, anchored in the R&B genre that has become a defining force for storytelling and connection across the archipelago and the millions of Filipino people who call countries around the world home. R&B as a form has always been adaptable, capable of absorbing the cultural nuances of every region it takes root in, and the iteration that has grown and flourished in the Philippines is no exception, weaving together the core commitments of the genre—vulnerability, clarity of feeling, the ability to turn personal experience into something that can hold the weight of collective emotion—with the specific cultural logics that shape connection and identity across the islands.
