About This Album
Hip-hop as a creative form has evolved far beyond its origins to become a global language of storytelling, self-expression, and communal connection, with regional scenes across the world adapting its core pillars to reflect the unique nuances, histories, and lived experiences of their own communities. Nowhere is that evolution more vivid than in the Philippines, where a thriving hip-hop ecosystem has grown over decades to become one of the most dynamic and culturally vital in Southeast Asia, weaving the core creative traditions of the genre—from narrative depth to commitment to authentic self-representation—into the fabric of the country’s mainstream and independent music landscapes.
