About this Song
Pop, as a global creative force that has remained culturally resonant for more than half a century, draws from distinct regional creative currents that reframe core sonic and structural touchstones to resonate with local audiences while speaking to the universal experiences that anchor the genre’s cross-cultural appeal. No region has contributed to that ongoing evolution of global pop with the same consistent, vibrant energy as the Philippines, whose own pop ecosystem has grown from a small local creative community to a major driver of mainstream pop trends that reach audiences far beyond Southeast Asia. Thought Of You emerges from that rich, endlessly creative Philippine pop landscape, a sound that exists within the long lineage of the country’s pop output, which has long balanced widespread global pop sensibilities with the unique creative priorities that have shaped its scene for decades.
