About this Song
Across the decades, global pop has drawn unexpected, thrilling connections between mainstream superstars whose careers have defined eras of cross-cultural exchange, and creators working from the Philippines’ vibrant, ever-evolving pop ecosystem that turns global reference points into something distinctly rooted in the archipelago’s long, unshakable love affair with the form, a love affair that has turned local iterations of pop into forces that resonate far beyond Southeast Asia’s borders, carrying the specific cadences and sensibilities of Filipino creators to audiences across every continent where pop music finds an audience, from small communities of expats in North America to casual listeners connecting with new music across Europe, all of whom have latched onto the unique warmth and intentionality that defines so much of the music coming out of the Philippines’ thriving creative scene.
