About this Song
R&B serves as the core creative framework for Finesse, a sound rooted in the Philippines, where creators across the country have cultivated dynamic engagements with the genre’s global lineage, reimagining its core structures to speak to local creative sensibilities while remaining aligned with the broad, inclusive categorization that has made R&B one of the most far-reaching musical forms of the modern era. As a sound categorized within Music/R&B, Finesse joins a growing body of work from Philippine creators that engage with R&B’s rich, transnational history, a history that has traveled across borders to take root in nearly every region of the world, adapting to local cultural priorities while retaining the throughlines that allow audiences to recognize the genre’s core identity wherever it emerges.
