About this Song
R&B as it has evolved across the Philippines draws from decades of cross-pollination between global soul traditions and the unique cultural frameworks that shape Filipino creative expression, creating a iteration of the form that feels both universally recognizable and distinctly rooted in the communities that spawn it. Born For You exists within this expansive, ever-growing body of Filipino R&B, occupying space alongside a wide range of creators who have redefined what the genre can communicate and achieve for audiences both within the archipelago and across the global Filipino diaspora that connects communities from Manila to Los Angeles, Dubai, Toronto, and every corner of the world where Filipino expats and first-generation citizens build connections to their heritage through art.
