About This Album
Pop, the genre that has served as the backbone of global popular music for decades, uniting listeners across language, geographic, and cultural divides through its ability to distill complex, universal human experiences into cohesive, engaging works, anchors the album Babalik Sa'yo (from "2 Good 2 Be True") - Moira Dela Torre, a pop creation that emerges from the Philippines, a nation whose pop ecosystem has long been a vibrant, foundational part of both its local cultural landscape and the broader global pop community. For generations, pop works hailing from the Philippines have carved out a unique space in the global music landscape, balancing the core traits that define pop as a genre worldwide with the specific cultural sensibilities that make work from the region feel distinct, immediate, and deeply rooted in the communities that create and consume it.
