His vocal style is characterized by its smooth, velvety quality, complementing emotionally rich and open-hearted lyrics. Nery's musical influences draw from artists such as Frank Ocean and Daniel Caesar, and his work frequently integrates elements of hip-hop, jazz, and electronic music. He began writing songs seriously during high school and later received formal vocal training as part of a college glee club. Before committing to music full-time, Nery worked as a call center agent and an online English teacher for Japanese students. His career gained significant momentum after comedian Wacky Kiray heard him perform his original song "Life Puzzle" and subsequently introduced him to Kean Cipriano, leading to Nery's signing with O/C Records in 2019.
