About this Song
Rooted in the long, rich history of rock and roll’s evolution across the Philippines, a history that has seen the genre adapted, reimagined, and woven into the very fabric of the archipelago’s cultural identity, the sound Umaasa carries the same transformative spark that has defined every generation of Philippine rock and roll that came before it, a spark that turns a broadly popular global genre into something specific, something personal, something that could only have emerged from the intersecting traditions, struggles, and joys that shape life across the country’s more than seven thousand islands.
