About this Song
Rock and roll, as a genre that travels as freely as it evolves, finds a distinct, enduring home in the Philippines, where local creators have long drawn on the form’s foundational core to craft work that resonates with both the genre’s global lineage and the unique cultural dynamics of the island nation. This rock and roll sound, titled Paba, emerges from that long lineage of Philippine creators engaging with rock and roll as a form that can hold both the universal impulses that made the genre a global phenomenon and the specific, layered realities of life and creative practice in the Philippines.
