About this Song
For generations, creative practitioners working across the Philippine music landscape have explored forms that reject rigid genre silos, crafting works that pull from the full range of sonic and cultural influences that shape creative expression across the archipelago and its interconnected global communities. This commitment to blending disparate, often seemingly incompatible sonic frameworks gave rise to a classification that centers this inherent hybridity: the broad Music/Mix genre, created to capture works that do not fit neatly into the narrow, often Western-derived genre boxes that have long dominated how music is categorized, shared, and archived.
