About this Song
Across the Philippines, informal and experimental music practices centered on blending disparate sonic lineages have long thrived outside of formalized industry structures, giving rise to the broad, inclusive category of Music/Mix that captures work that resists narrow, prescriptive generic categorization. This classification does away with the pressure to fit a recording into pre-existing boxes designed for commercial radio or algorithmic sorting, allowing creators to prioritize their own creative vision over industry expectations of what a work should sound like, who it should appeal to, or what narrative it must advance.
