To Gbubemi Ejeye, Acting is Liberation Gbubemi figured at a young age that acting was a space where she could express herself, free fromjudgment or question. As a shy child who played by the rules and often kept to herself, it formed an outlet to step into different lives that allowed her to explore parts of herself she wouldn’t otherwise reveal. When she decided to work in film, she gravitated towards roles behind the scenes that felt more aligned with her personality at the time. It wasn’t until constant encouragement from the women around her that she gave acting one last chance—and it paid off.
