About this Song
Across Indonesia’s sprawling, interconnected network of creative music makers, a vast range of works resist easy placement in the niche, genre-specific categories that often shape how audiences engage with recorded sound, falling into a flexible space that honors the full breadth of creative expression possible when artists draw from multiple traditions, reference points, and personal creative impulses. That’s the case for Sebatas Mimpi, the collaborative sound from credited artists Angie Carvalho and Yovie Widianto, which carries the genre tag Music/Other to reflect its refusal to fit neatly into pre-existing genre boxes that might constrain its unique artistic identity.
