About this Song
"Merindu Lagi" is a 2025 collaboration between Indonesian singer-songwriter Mesa Hira and Indonesian music maestro Yovie Widianto. This pop recording from Indonesia features a fresh arrangement by Yovie Widianto, who originally released the song in 2010 with his group Yovie & Nuno. Mesa Hira's rendition significantly departs from the original with a rock-punk arrangement, showcasing her strong vocal character and rock-influenced performance style. The lyrics of "Merindu Lagi" explore the theme of falling in love with someone already in a relationship, describing the difficulty of forgetting someone important and being caught in past memories. Mesa Hira, born Meisya Syahirah in Medan, North Sumatra, was the third-place winner in the thirteenth season of Indonesian Idol in 2025. Her vocal performance on "Merindu Lagi" is characterized by clarity, emotion, and strong character. The 2025 version of "Merindu Lagi" was produced by S/EEK and co-produced by Yovie Widianto.
