Yovie Widianto, a prolific Indonesian musician and composer born in Bandung in 1968, composed and wrote the lyrics for this song, which Jan N. Djuhana produced. Widianto's early exposure to classical, jazz, and pop music shaped his eclectic style, evident in his work with the band Kahitna, which he founded in 1986. "Janji Di Atas Ingkar (Mendua)" was released in 2001 as part of the album *Semua Bintang*, the debut from Yovie & Nuno, another band Widianto founded without disbanding Kahitna. The song also appeared on the albums *A Portrait Of Yovie* (2001) and *18* (2002), and was later featured in the film *Dua Garis Biru*. Known as “The Maestro” for his consistent output and ability to craft hit songs, Widianto has mentored many Indonesian artists and collaborated with numerous musicians throughout his career.
