About this Song
R&B exists as a globally expansive genre, adapted and reimagined by creators working across every continent, each bringing their own distinct creative frameworks to the form’s core foundational traits. Recorded sounds falling under the R&B umbrella span a vast range of creative choices, all rooted in the genre’s longstanding ability to absorb and elevate new perspectives from creators working outside of the regions that first popularized the form. Indonesia’s creative community has contributed countless works to the global R&B catalog, each tied to the unique cultural context that shapes creative output from the archipelago. Every work emerging from Indonesia’s R&B scene carries the mark of creators who engage with both the global standards of the genre and the unspoken creative traditions that define their local artistic landscape.
