About this Song
Ungu, the Indonesian creative entity that operates within the expansive global network of artists reinterpreting and extending the lineage of Afrobeat, a sound that has traveled far beyond its origins to take root in creative communities across every inhabited continent, including the vibrant, interconnected music scene that thrives across Indonesia’s thousands of islands, where local creators weave their own cultural and creative sensibilities into the core structural frameworks that define Afrobeat as a genre, resulting in works that feel both rooted in the transnational history of the style and entirely unique to the artistic perspective of the creators that bring them to life.
