About this Song
Disini Untukmu, the sound from Indonesian act Ungu, exists within a genre landscape that recognizes its core ties to Afrobeat while marking its unique creative identity through its placement in the broader Music/Afrobeat/Other category, a designation that rejects forcing all works engaging with Afrobeat’s foundational framework into rigid, one-size-fits-all stylistic boxes. Every layer of the work aligns with the spirit of that classification, which prioritizes a work’s unique identity over any demand to conform to widespread audience expectations of what an Afrobeat-rooted sound must be.
