About This Album
Hip-hop as a global creative form has long adapted to the specific cultural, social, and geographic contexts of every region it touches, and the strain of the genre that emerges from Indonesia carries that same adaptive, deeply rooted creative spirit, centering the perspectives of creators working across the archipelago’s thousands of islands while engaging with the core artistic and structural traditions that define hip-hop as a whole. Tutur Batin, a full-length album emerging from this vibrant Indonesian hip-hop landscape, sits within a long line of full-length projects that push the boundaries of what the genre can be, while remaining grounded in the shared creative community that nurtures hip-hop creation across Indonesia.
