As a singer and songwriter from Indonesia, Tulus creates all of his own music, a practice he has maintained since beginning his musical journey in 2011. He also co-founded TulusCompany, a record label and talent management company, with his older brother, Riri Muktamar. Tulus handles the lead and background vocals for "Teh Hijau," a Music recording for which he also wrote the lyrics and melody. The song's executive producers are Riri Muktamar and TulusCompany, with Yoseph Sitompul producing and Tulus serving as co-producer. Sitompul also arranged the music, provided acoustic piano, keyboard, synth, and loop programming, and directed background vocals alongside Tulus. The recording features Adisty Zulkarnaen on acoustic drums, Rudy Zulkarnaen on electric bass, and Topan Abimanyu on electric guitar. Yoseph Sitompul arranged the horn section, with Maha Ami Purba on trumpet and Yowie Henry on trombone. Stevano mixed the track at Studio Sembunyi, and Stuart Hawkes mastered it at Metropolis Mastering.
