Tulus, an Indonesian singer and songwriter, began his musical journey in September 2011, actively releasing self-created music. He also co-founded TulusCompany with his older sister, Riri Muktamar, a company that serves as both a record label and talent management. TulusCompany has officially released five albums, all featuring songs written by Tulus and produced by Ari Renaldi. The song "TULUS - Kelana" features lyrics by Tulus, with the melody and chords created by Petra Sihombing and Tulus. Ari Renaldi produced and arranged the track, also contributing acoustic and electric piano, drums, percussion, and vocoder. Rudy Zulkarnaen played electric bass, and Topan Abimanyu played electric guitar. The music and vocals were recorded, mixed, and mastered by Ari Renaldi at Aru Studio in Bandung.
