About this Song
Indonesia’s archipelagic creative landscape has long nurtured experimental approaches to stitching together disparate sonic traditions, and Penghuni Surga Sejatimu emerges from that lineage as a seamless example of the kind of cross-pollinating work that falls under the broad, intentional classification of Music/Mix. Unlike recordings that lean into a single established genre, this mix prioritizes cohesion across a wide range of sonic references that resonate across the communities that make up Indonesia’s creative public, drawing from strands of sound that have traveled between the country’s thousands of inhabited islands, shifting and evolving as they merge with local practices to create something entirely new.
