Rising from Bandung, West Java’s bustling creative scene, the group that would become one of Indonesia’s most enduring cultural forces first formally formed on September 19, 2004, when its five members came together to build a sound that would redefine local popular music for a generation of young people. Comprising Mohammad Tria Ramadhani on vocals, Muhammad Iqbal and Arlanda Ghazali Langitan on guitars, Dipa Nandastyra Hasibuan on bass, and Erick Nindyoastomo on drums, the band crafted a musical identity that wove together a sprawling range of influences, melding core strains of rock, garage rock, punk revival, indie pop, and blues rock with touches of surf rock, mainstream pop, and traditional Indonesian music to create a sound that felt both connected to global rock traditions and deeply specific to the archipelago that nurtured it.
