Dewa 19, an Indonesian rock band formed in Surabaya, East Java, in 1986, is led by singer-songwriter and keyboardist Ahmad Dhani. The band's name, an acronym of the founding members' names, gained the "19" to mark their average age when their first album was being developed in 1991. Known for a musical style blending rock, pop rock, soft rock, alternative rock, symphonic rock, hard rock, pop metal, and arena rock, Dewa 19's sound features powerful yet melodic arrangements, integrating keyboard layers with guitar riffs. The band, which disbanded in 2011 and regrouped in 2019 for reunion shows, has sold over 7 million albums in Indonesia. "Sedang Ingin Bercinta" exemplifies the band's diverse rock-influenced approach from Indonesia.
