The Indonesian rock band Dewa 19, led by singer-songwriter Ahmad Dhani, delivers powerful yet melodic rock arrangements on "Laskar Cinta (Chapter Two)." Characterized by a blend of rock, pop rock, soft rock, alternative rock, symphonic rock, hard rock, pop metal, and arena rock, the band's sound integrates keyboard layers with guitar riffs. Formed in Surabaya, East Java, in 1986, Dewa 19 is considered one of the greatest rock bands in Indonesian popular music history, having sold over 7 million albums in Indonesia. The band's name, Dewa, is an acronym of the founding members' names: Dhani, Erwin, Wawan, and Andra, with "19" added to represent the average age of the members when the band was officially established and when their first album was being worked on in 1991. The band disbanded in 2011 but regrouped in 2019 for reunion shows, and in 2022, Ahmad Dhani stated that Dewa 19 now features four vocalists: Ari Lasso, Once Mekel, Virzha, and Marcello Tahitoe.
