"Kangen" is a track by Dewa 19, an Indonesian rock band formed in Surabaya, East Java, in 1986. The band's name, an acronym of the founding members' names—Dhani, Erwin, Wawan, and Andra—was later appended with "19" to reflect the average age of the members during the recording of their 1992 debut album, *Dewa 19*. Led by singer-songwriter Ahmad Dhani, Dewa 19 is known for its blend of rock, pop rock, soft rock, alternative rock, symphonic rock, hard rock, pop metal, and arena rock. Their sound is characterized by powerful yet melodic rock arrangements, integrating keyboard layers with guitar riffs. The band achieved mainstream success in the 1990s with Ari Lasso on lead vocals and even greater success in the 2000s with Once Mekel. After disbanding in 2011, Dewa 19 regrouped in 2019 for reunion shows, frequently featuring guest vocalists including former members Ari Lasso and Once Mekel. In 2022, Marcello Tahitoe was announced as a new lead vocalist, joining Ari Lasso, Once, and Virzha.
