About this Song
The collaborative pairing of Tenxi and Jemsii brings Puting Beliung to life, a work tied closely to the creative community of Indonesia, whose vast and diverse musical ecosystem spans countless local and regional traditions that rarely fit the narrow, globalized genre frameworks that shape most mainstream music classification systems. That classification, listed as Music/Other, situates Puting Beliung outside any pre-existing box that might try to pin its identity to a set of preordained sonic traits, a positioning that makes space for the work to exist on its own terms rather than being shoehorned into a category that does not accurately reflect its core nature.
