Siprianus Bhuka performs under the stage name Silet Open Up. He was born on November 22, 1993, in Waeia, a village in Golewa District, Ngada Regency, on the island of Flores in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. His artistic practice centers on a blend of hip-hop, RnB, and rap, woven together with the traditional musical styles of his home region of East Nusa Tenggara. Before launching his solo career, he was a member of the hip-hop group DMC, a tenure that spanned from 2013 to 2015. His first track to earn widespread mainstream recognition, “Kaka Main Salah,” broke through to audiences across Indonesia in 2019. That early success set the stage for a string of high-profile global performances, starting with an appearance at the ASEAN Summit 2023 Gala Dinner in Jakarta. He later returned to the international stage to sing “Kaka Main Salah” at the ABU TV Song Festival 2024, held in Istanbul, Turkey.
