About This Album
Indonesia’s rich, sprawling musical landscape has long nurtured works that push past the limits of the rigid genre buckets used to categorize most mainstream recorded output, and Sheila On 7 fits firmly within that lineage of creative work that defies easy labeling. The album, which carries its name as a core marker of its unique creative identity, grows from a regional creative ecosystem that prioritizes unfiltered creative expression over the need to slot art into pre-existing categories for commercial or curatorial convenience.
